Rhode Island auto crash causes death, injury

Driving at night on certain Rhode Island thoroughfares can require motorists to exercise an increase in caution. When a driver does not take note of the surroundings or loses control of the car, an auto crash can occur and inflict serious harm on those involved. Recently, a man was killed and another injured in a single vehicle auto crash on a local road.

The accident occurred when the vehicle involved in the accident smashed into a ledge of rock near the roadway. The impact caused the car to flip and travel back into the road where it eventually became stationary upside down. Authorities believe that the speed in which the vehicle was traveling may have contributed to the cause of the tragic accident.

The young man riding in the passenger seat suffered serious injuries during the collision. After being transferred to a nearby hospital, he passed away from the injuries he suffered in the accident. He had just recently graduated from the Community College of Rhode Island. Reports indicate that the driver of the car remains in critical condition.

As the investigation continues, Rhode Island authorities may be able to document the specific cause of the accident, which could be used to help designate legal responsibility in the auto crash. The family of a victim that was killed by the negligence of another person may desire justice be achieved for the loss of their loved one. They have the legal right to press ahead with a wrongful death lawsuit against the driver of the vehicle and any other individual who had an ownership interest in the vehicle. If they can establish by relevant proof that the driver negligently caused the fatal car accident, a civil court will consider claims for specific items of financial damages.
