RV drivers must anticipate hazards to avoid accidents

There is something very liberating about traveling the country in a Recreational Vehicle. And when you take to the road in one of these supersized vehicles, you get to enjoy many perks that are not afforded to those driving a typical passenger car.

The most obvious advantage is that rather than having to always seek expensive lodging when you and your passengers are tired, you simply need to find a welcoming campsite. And your schedule is totally your own; there is no checkout time in a motorhome; you can sleep in or even stay over if that's what you want to do.

But this freedom does come with a caveat or two. For one thing, even a smaller model RV is far more cumbersome to drive than a passenger car. This means that RV drivers must be even more prepared for possible road hazards. For example, on wet surfaces, it is important to slow down and allow for plenty of following distance behind other vehicles. An RV can be difficult to bring to a quick halt and this is even truer when the roads are slick.

And when you are driving an RV, it can be more difficult to compensate for the actions of negligent drivers who may cut you off or drive in your blind spots. As such, you could be vulnerable to a serious accident.

If you are an RV owner who has had the misfortune of being in an accident, you may wish to contact the Karns Law Group. We place emphasis on offering our clients representation that caters to the specific circumstances of their cases.
