Car Accidents - Knee Injury

Most People commonly associate car accidents with injuries such as neck pain, back pain, and headaches. Karns Law Group however often finds that when clients injuries are out of the realm of the, "norm", some people will ignore the pain without realizing that it is actually directly related to the car accident they were involved in.

Recently, a client came to us after someone rear ended her and had complaints of neck pain, back pain, headaches, and right knee pain. After treating with traditional therapists, her neck and back pain subsided but her knee pain continued. Feeling frustrated and concerned, she spoke to the Karns Law Group who encouraged her to seek out treatment from a specialist for her right knee since she struck that knee against the dashboard in the collision. Ultimately, she saw an orthopedic specialist who performed an arthroscopy which revealed that the client's plica, which is tissue found in the knee, was irritated and it needed to be removed. After undergoing the scope and necessary post-op treatment, the client felt that her knee was much better and the discomfort had gone away. Although at first our client did not think that the pain in her knee was significant or even related, it was found through treatment, and revisiting the sequence of events in the accident, that the impact of the crash and contact with the dashboard caused a serious knee injury that required surgery to rectify.

Although your injuries may not seem related it is always important to seek medical attention after a motor vehicle accident and describe any and all pain that you are having as down the road you may realize something that you ignored was actually something very serious.
