Rhode Island car crash leaves 1 dead, 1 injured

Losing a loved one in an accident or coping with a seriously injured family member is traumatic at any time of year, but never more so than during the holiday season. Unfortunately, two families must now deal with the aftermath of a Rhode Island car crash that left one 26-year-old man dead and another injured. The head-on collision occurred around 11 p.m. on a recent Friday night in the vicinity of Providence College.

Details regarding how the accident occurred are unavailable. The two vehicles collided where Admiral Street intersects with Huxley Avenue. Both drivers were transported to Rhode Island Hospital, though the nature of their injuries has not been reported. One of the drivers succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at the hospital. The condition of the other driver has not been reported.

Investigators continue to look into the accident to uncover the details of what happened. They have not determined whether alcohol was a factor or if either man was restrained when the collision occurred. The outcome of the investigation will likely determine whether any charges will be filed.

Once further details of this car crash come to light, it may become apparent who was responsible. If charges are brought against the survivor, it could clear the way for the decedent's family to pursue a wrongful death claim against him. If the deceased driver is deemed responsible, the survivor of the accident may wish to discuss his options with someone experienced in personal injury law. In either situation, pursuing such a claim may help the plaintiff obtain some closure and move forward.
