Drivers in intensive care after Rhode Island car accident

Rhode Island motorists are aware that accidents are going to happen in some cases even when precautions are taken. Unfortunately, any car accident can result in catastrophic injuries. When injuries of this nature occur, the injured are left to deal with a long recovery period and the difficulties that are bound to come. In addition, they are faced with possible financial worries from medical bills and time lost at work. In some scenarios, a civil claim may be useful in helping with the situation.

One such accident happened on Dec. 24, 2013. In the accident, a pickup truck and car were involved in a serious head-on collision. According to the police, the driver of the truck crossed into the oncoming traffic. As a result of their injuries, both drivers were transported to area hospitals and are currently in intensive care.

The specific facts of the case are still unknown and the accident remains under investigation. Once the causes of the accident have been uncovered, the driver of the car could be faced with a tough decision. It is possible that he may have legal grounds for a civil claim against the driver of the pickup.

Any car accident that results in major injuries is understandably tragic. The difficulties and financial burdens that can follow such an accident are typically devastating. In similar situations, a civil claim might be appropriate in helping to ease the difficulty what the injured is facing. With that being said, any Rhode Island resident who has suffered from such an accident may choose to file a claim that seeks to help financially and hold the responsible party accountable. To prevail, it will be necessary to establish by competent proof that the driver of the pickup negligently caused or contributed to the accident.
