Motorcycle crash leads to 2 injuries in Rhode Island

Motorcyclists are at risk for getting seriously injured or losing their lives in vehicle accidents. This is because in a motorcycle crash, there isn't much to protect a motorcyclist from an oncoming vehicle. Two people were recently injured after being involved in a motorcycle vs. car crash in Rhode Island.

The accident took place on a Wednesday just past 7:30 p.m., according to police. It happened in the area of Interstate 95. Police said a man was driving a motorcycle and was carrying a female passenger at the time.

The motorcycle and another car then crashed into each other, authorities reported. The man suffered serious injuries and was transported to a hospital via helicopter. His injuries were not deemed life-threatening. The female passenger was also transported to a hospital. The highway had to be closed down temporarily following the collision; police continued to investigate what caused the crash.

If the police investigation reveals which motorist caused the crash, this person may be held liable for the injuries resulting from it. Any injured victim may choose to file a personal injury claim against this party, pursuing financial damages that can be used to pay for a hospital stay and other expenses recognized under our Rhode Island state laws. It can also help to address pain and suffering stemming from this unfortunate wreck. If there is evidence that the person who allegedly caused the accident was being negligent, such as driving distracted or speeding, this may be presented in court in order to try to establish his or her financial responsibility in the motorcycle crash.
