Fatal motorcycle crash in Rhode Island

Driving a motorcycle does not provide a biker or passenger the same physical protection as a car or truck may afford. It is important for those operating a motor vehicle to remain aware of bikers on the roadway. When a motorcycle crash occurs, it can inflict serious injuries to a motorcyclist. A late evening motorcycle crash recently took place on a Rhode Island highway that was serious enough to close down one side of the road.

The crash took place when a motorcycle carrying two people collided with a vehicle while traveling on Interstate 95 in the southbound lanes. The biker and his passenger both suffered serious injuries as a result of the collision. The driver of the car escaped without suffering any physical damage.

Both victims were taken by helicopter to Rhode Island Hospital for treatment of their severe traumas. Reports do not indicate what may have caused or led up to the crash between the car and motorcycle. Dangerous accidents on the highway can result from many causes and often include inattention or distracted driving.

When a motorcycle crash inflicts significant harm to a person in Rhode Island, they have every right to seek professional assistance to assess their right to pursue a claim for recovery of financial damages sustained. To prevail, it will be necessary to establish liability by proving that another party was negligent. A victim may require extensive medical care for their injuries, and that can create a difficult financial situation. Some people seek restitution to help support the cost of treatment and ensure they are able to heal from the damages inflicted by another party.
